How to overcome gym anxiety as a total beginner
Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience and hopefully help others who might be feeling the same way I did when I first started going to the gym. For a long time, I struggled with what people call "gym anxiety." The thought of walking into a busy gym, not knowing what to do, and feeling like everyone was watching me was incredibly daunting.
What helped me a lot was starting during off-peak hours when the gym was quieter. That gave me a chance to get familiar with the machines and layout without feeling rushed or self-conscious. I also found that having a simple plan written down beforehand made a huge difference; it meant I did not have to improvise or look confused.
For those of you who have overcome gym anxiety, what strategies did you use? Did you go with a friend, or perhaps focus on certain areas of the gym first? I think this is a really common hurdle for beginners, and sharing our tips can make a big difference.
