I've heard the advice countless times: cut fats to practically zero during peak week. The idea is to reduce any chance of subcutaneous water retention and make room for more carbs during the loading phase. But is this really the best approach, or are we just following old dogma?

From a physiological standpoint, fats are crucial for hormone production and overall cellular health. Even in small amounts, they play a role. Dropping them entirely seems like it could backfire, potentially impacting energy levels, mood, or even the appearance of muscle fullness if your body isn't accustomed to it.

I'm not talking about eating a cheeseburger, obviously, but even healthy fats from sources like avocado or a tiny bit of olive oil. What's the consensus here? Do you guys go virtually fat-free in the final 7 days, or do you keep a minimal amount (say, 10-20g) from beneficial sources? Has anyone seen a noticeable negative effect from cutting fats completely, or is it truly the way to go for maximum dryness?
