My Carb Cycling Strategy for the Last 2 Weeks Pre-Show – What Works?
Alright MuscleTalks fam, I'm deep into my prep for a show coming up in about 16 days. I've been experimenting with a different carb cycling approach this time around and wanted to see what others think or if anyone has had similar experiences.
My current plan is a 3-day cycle: high carb (around 400g), moderate carb (250g), and then a very low carb day (50g or less). I'm repeating this pattern through the last two weeks, with the aim of manipulating glycogen levels and staying full but lean. My high carb days are typically before leg day or back day, and low carb on rest days or light cardio days.
I've seen some good results with fullness and keeping my energy somewhat stable, but I'm worried about potentially flattening out too much on those low days right before peak week officially begins. My coach is pretty old school and just says "eat your rice," so I'm looking for some real-world feedback.
What are your go-to carb cycling methods in the final few weeks? Do you strictly adhere to a cycle, or do you adjust based on how you look and feel? Any specific carb timing tips for the last 14 days?
