Wrist Mobility Exercises for Front Squats and Cleans
I am really struggling to keep my elbows up during front squats and cleans because my wrists just do not want to bend that far. I am looking for wrist mobility exercises for front squats and cleans that I can do during my warm up. I currently have to use a three finger grip which feels very unstable.
I have been doing some prayer stretches and some wrist circles but I am not seeing much improvement. I have heard that tricep and lat tightness can also affect the rack position. I am wondering if I should be using straps to help pull my wrists into the right position while I stretch.
Does anyone have a breakthrough stretch or drill for this? I want to be able to catch my cleans with a full grip on the bar. I am also curious if using wrist wraps helps with the pain of the extreme extension or if it just makes the mobility worse over time. I would love some advice from the olympic lifting community!
