Why Having an Accountability Partner Increases Success Rates
I was reading a study recently about why having an accountability partner increases success rates so significantly. It seems like the psychological pressure of not wanting to let someone else down is a huge motivator. I have definitely found this to be true in my own life here in Vancouver.
Whenever I tell my brother I am going to the community center for a swim, I am much more likely to go. If I keep the plan to myself, I find excuses. It is fascinating how our brains work when social proof is involved.
Have any of you noticed a major shift in your results once you started working with a partner? I am trying to convince a friend to start a 12-week challenge with me and I want to show him some real-world examples of why this works. Any anecdotes would be appreciated!
