Virtual Fitness Partner vs In Person Gym Buddy Comparison
I am doing a virtual fitness partner vs in person gym buddy comparison for my own routine. I used to have a friend come to the gym with me in Dallas, but our schedules changed and now I am on my own. I have started checking in with a cousin in Houston via WhatsApp instead.
The in-person buddy was great for spotting me on heavy bench press sets, but the virtual partner is actually better for daily diet accountability. We send pictures of every meal we eat. It feels like I am always being watched in a good way.
Which do you all prefer? I think there are pros and cons to both. If you are training for a specific event like a marathon, does a virtual partner provide enough support? I am curious to hear your experiences with both styles of accountability.
