The Role of NEAT in Fat Loss and How to Increase It
I have been focusing a lot on my gym sessions but I recently learned about NEAT which is non exercise activity thermogenesis. It turns out that the calories we burn just moving around during the day can be even more important than the calories we burn in the gym.
I am trying to find ways to increase my daily steps and general movement. I have started taking the stairs instead of the elevator and I am trying to stand more at my desk. I am in a bit of a plateau right now so I hope this helps.
How much attention do you pay to your daily step count? I am aiming for 12000 steps a day. Do you think it is worth getting a standing desk or a walking pad for under the desk? I would love to hear how you guys maximize your calorie burn outside of your workouts.
