Suunto Race vs Garmin Forerunner 965 Trail Running Comparison
I am doing a trail running comparison between the Suunto Race and the Garmin Forerunner 965. I spend most of my time in the mountains and I need a watch that has excellent mapping and a battery that will not die during a ten hour trek.
The Suunto Race has a beautiful build and the digital crown is great for navigating maps with gloves on. However the Garmin ecosystem is so familiar and the Forerunner 965 screen is just stunning. I am finding it hard to choose between the ruggedness of the Suunto and the features of the Garmin.
Has anyone taken both of these out into the wild? I am especially interested in how the vertical gain tracking compares between the two. I have noticed some slight discrepancies on my usual routes. Let me know which one you would trust for a remote trail race.
