Shoulder Impingement Exercises to Do at Home
I spend all day hunched over a computer and now my shoulder hurts whenever I reach for something on a high shelf. I am pretty sure I have some shoulder impingement and I am looking for shoulder impingement exercises to do at home. I do not have a lot of equipment so I am hoping for some bodyweight or band movements.
I have started doing some doorway stretches and some Y-W-T raises on the floor. I am trying to improve my posture because I know my rounded shoulders are not helping. I have heard that strengthening the lower traps and serratus anterior is really important for opening up that space in the shoulder joint.
Do you have any favorite home exercises for this? I am also wondering if I should avoid any specific movements at the gym until the pain goes away. I have been skipping overhead presses for now but I am not sure what else might be aggravating it. I would love some advice from anyone who has fixed their impingement at home!
