I see some guys at my gym wearing their lifting belts from the moment they walk in until the moment they leave. I have always been told that you should only use a belt for your heaviest sets to help build core strength.

What is the general consensus on this? Should I be using my belt for my warmup sets to get used to the bracing or should I save it for anything over 80 percent of my max? I do not want to become reliant on the belt but I also want to make sure I am training as safely and effectively as possible.

I have a 10mm lever belt that I love using but I usually wait until I am at my working weight before I put it on. Am I leaving gains on the table by not using it more often? I would love to hear how you all integrate belt usage into your training sessions.
