I am currently using a 10mm leather belt for all my lifts but I find it really uncomfortable for deadlifts. It digs into my hips and makes it hard to get into a good starting position. I am considering getting a nylon belt like the Schiek ones for my deadlift sessions in Alberta.

I have heard that nylon belts are much more flexible and allow for better movement while still providing some abdominal pressure. However I am worried that I will lose that rock solid feeling of a leather belt when I am pulling over four hundred pounds.

Do you think it is worth having two different belts for different lifts? I see some pros using nylon for deadlifts and leather for squats. I would love to hear your thoughts on which material is better for the pull and if it actually helps with your setup.
