I just picked up the Schiek Model 2004 lifting belt and I wanted to share my thoughts. I live in Texas and I do a lot of functional training and Olympic lifting so I needed something that provides support without being too restrictive. The patented cone shape of this belt really fits the natural curve of the back.

The velcro closure is surprisingly strong and I have never had it pop open even during heavy squats. I love that it is wider in the back and tapers at the sides which makes it very comfortable for overhead work. It is much lighter than my old leather belt.

Does anyone else use Schiek belts for their training? I know some powerlifters prefer leather but for my style of lifting this feels perfect. I am curious how long the velcro lasts before it starts to lose its grip. If you have had one for a long time please let me know your experience.
