Physical Therapy for SLAP Tear Without Surgery Success Stories
I was diagnosed with a SLAP tear in my right shoulder after a nasty fall during a CrossFit competition. The surgeon suggested an operation but I have heard the recovery is brutal and often leads to a loss of internal rotation. I am really hoping to go the conservative route first.
I have been doing a lot of Scapular stabilization work and rotator cuff strengthening. It has been three months and I am finally able to do push ups without sharp pain. Has anyone here successfully returned to heavy overhead movements without getting the surgery?
I would love to hear about your timeline and what exercises made the biggest difference. I am currently using the Crossover Symmetry system at my gym and it seems to be helping with the stability. I just need some hope that I can get back to snatching one day.
