I am torn between the old school bodybuilding splits from the 70s and the modern science based approach that is popular now. The old school guys did massive volume and often trained muscles three times a week with high frequency.
Modern science seems to suggest that lower volume and more rest is better for natural lifters. I am a natural lifter in the UK and I am not sure which path to follow for the best aesthetic results. I love the look of the golden era bodybuilders.
Do you think the old school methods still hold up today, or have we moved past them? I feel like the intensity and work ethic of the old school guys is something that is missing from a lot of modern programs. I would love to hear your experiences with both styles.
