Been eyeing both of these for a while. I've heard the Nobulls are super stable but less flexible for WODs. GORUCK seems like a good all-rounder. Anyone got direct experience comparing the two for heavy squats and some conditioning?

@LiftingLegend, you hit the nail on the head. Nobull for stability, GORUCK for versatility. I use my Nobulls for my max effort lifts and then switch to something lighter for accessory work or conditioning. Can't beat the flat sole for deads.

@GymRatUK, I get that. I switched from specific squat shoes to my Nobulls and didn't look back for anything under 400lbs. They're just 'enough' for stability without being clunky.

Hey @LiftingLegend, what kind of conditioning? If it's anything more than a short sprint or box jumps, the GORUCKs have better cushioning. Nobulls feel like bricks for longer runs.

@pakiman, solid point. My conditioning is usually sled pushes, battle ropes, and maybe some burpees. No long-distance stuff. So the Nobull's potential lack of cushioning for longer runs isn't a dealbreaker for me.

@AnimalLifter, exactly. For that kind of conditioning, the Nobulls are fine. Where they fall apart is if you're trying to do a 5k or longer in them. Not what they're made for.

I've owned both. The Nobull Trainer+ is definitely more rigid, which I prefer for pure strength days (squats, deadlifts). The GORUCK Ballistic Trainers are more versatile, better for anything with a bit of running or jumping. If you're doing CrossFit, GORUCK hands down.

@ArnoldS, that's what I needed to hear. My main focus is strength, so the rigidity of the Nobull sounds good. I do a bit of conditioning but nothing crazy. Think I'll lean Nobull.

GORUCK Ballistic Trainers are built like tanks. Seriously durable. I've had mine for over two years, thrashing them daily, and they're still going strong. Nobulls always felt a bit... pricier for what you get, durability-wise.

For anyone with wider feet, the GORUCKs are usually a better fit. Nobull can feel a bit narrow, especially the Trainer+ model. Just something to consider before ordering online.

@Push50, good call on the wide feet. I had to size up half a size in Nobull to get a comfortable width, and even then, it's snug. GORUCK felt true to size for me.

@Zigurd, I feel you on that. The Trainer+ definitely has a narrower toe box. I've got average feet and still feel it. But the lockdown is insane, which is great for lifts.

I found the Nobull Trainer+ much more comfortable for all-day wear, not just in the gym. The upper material is softer and breathes better, IMO. GORUCK felt a bit stiff until broken in.

@MidwestMike, really? I found the GORUCKs surprisingly comfy right out of the box. Maybe it's a personal foot shape thing. Nobulls always felt a bit too 'plasticky' for me.

Honestly, can't go wrong with either if you're serious about training. It's mostly down to aesthetics and specific fit preferences at that point. Both are solid choices for lifting.

Never tried the GORUCKs but my Nobull Trainer+ have been fantastic. They feel very planted for deadlifts and squats. Only downside is the price tag, but you get what you pay for.

@IronMaven, I think the price is justified for the quality. My Nobulls have outlasted cheaper trainers by a long shot. Cost per wear, they're actually a good investment.

Does anyone find the GORUCKs a bit heavy? I love the durability, but after a long session, they definitely feel like they're weighing me down compared to some lighter trainers.

I'm a loyal Nobull guy. Been through several pairs. They hold up well, look good, and perform consistently. Never felt the need to stray to GORUCK, even with all the hype.

@CrossFitKing, I was a loyal Nobull guy too until I tried the GORUCKs. For my style of training (more varied CrossFit workouts), they just felt better overall. Still love Nobulls for pure lifting though.

Is it just me, or do Nobulls get dirty super easily? Especially the lighter colors. I spend more time cleaning them than wearing them, sometimes. GORUCKs seem to hide grime better.

I've heard good things about both, but my budget pushes me towards other brands. Any good alternatives that offer similar stability/durability but don't break the bank? Looking for value.

I'm surprised more people aren't mentioning the grip. GORUCKs have excellent grip, even on dusty gym floors. Nobulls are decent, but I've slipped a couple of times during lateral movements.

@StickySoles, that's a good point about the grip. I've only ever used my Nobulls on rubber gym flooring, so haven't had issues, but it's something to consider for different surfaces.

The aesthetics of Nobull are unmatched, let's be real. They just look sharp. GORUCKs are more utilitarian, which isn't a bad thing, but they don't have that 'style' factor.

@JayneScott, totally agree! I like looking good while I lift. Nobull wins on the visual front every time. I've got three pairs just for the colorways.

For anyone debating, try to find a local store that stocks both. Nothing beats trying them on, doing a few air squats, and seeing how they feel. Online reviews are good, but your feet are unique.

I prefer the GORUCKs for rope climbs. The ballistic nylon upper just handles the friction better without showing wear as quickly as the Nobull's material does. Big difference for me.

@Droz, that's a key detail! I do a lot of rope climbs and hadn't even thought about that. My current shoes are getting shredded. GORUCK sounds like the winner for that.

Don't overlook the tongue design. Nobull's integrated tongue is slick but can be annoying if you like to adjust it. GORUCK's traditional tongue is more forgiving and easier to get on/off.

@jimmywells1988, yup, the Nobull integrated tongue is a love-it-or-hate-it feature. I personally like the sock-like feel, but I can see why it's not for everyone. It definitely makes them harder to slip on quickly.
