Is Yoga for Men Good for Mobility
I have always felt like yoga was more for women but I am starting to see more guys in the classes. I am wondering is yoga for men good for mobility and strength for someone who is already quite muscular. I find that I am very stiff and that I have a hard time with some basic movements in the gym.
I am looking for a class that focuses on the areas where men are typically tight like the hamstrings, hips, and shoulders. I am in the UK and I have found a few local studios that offer yoga for athletes. I want to improve my flexibility without losing my hard earned muscle mass.
Have any of you guys started a regular yoga practice? Did you find that it helped your lifting or your overall athleticism? I am curious if you felt intimidated at first and how you got over that. I would love to hear your experiences and if you think it is a good addition to a strength training program.
