Is Starlink Internet Worth It for Rural Areas in the UK and Canada
I moved out to a rural part of Ontario last year and the internet options here are abysmal. I am currently using a local WISP that gives me maybe 5Mbps on a good day. It is impossible to stream anything in 4K or work from home reliably.
I have been looking at Starlink but the upfront hardware cost is quite high. I am also worried about the monthly fee which is more than double what I pay now. Is the speed and reliability actually worth it?
I have seen some people say they get over 100Mbps consistently even in bad weather. That would be a game changer for me. But I have also heard that the speeds can drop during peak hours as more people join the network.
Has anyone in the UK or Canada made the switch recently? I would love to hear your download and upload speeds. I am tired of waiting forever for a single file to download.
