I have been reading some conflicting studies about pea protein versus whey protein for muscle growth. Some say that whey is the gold standard because of the leucine content but others suggest that pea protein is just as effective if you eat enough of it.

I am not vegan but I am trying to reduce my dairy intake because it makes my skin break out. I am currently using a pea and rice blend to get a complete amino acid profile. Do you think I am missing out on potential gains by not using whey?

I would love to hear from anyone who has made the switch. Did you notice any difference in your recovery or muscle thickness? I am really trying to optimize my nutrition for my upcoming summer cut and I want to make sure I am using the best tools.
