Is Online Therapy Worth It Comparison of Popular Platforms
I have been going through a bit of a rough patch lately and I am considering starting therapy. I have seen a lot of ads for online platforms like BetterHelp and Talkspace. I am wondering if they are actually effective compared to seeing someone in person.
I love the convenience of being able to talk to someone from home, but I am worried that the connection might not be the same over a video call. I also want to know if these platforms are actually affordable. My insurance does not cover much when it comes to mental health.
Has anyone here used an online therapy service? How was the process of getting matched with a therapist? I have heard that it can be a bit hit or miss and you might have to try a few people before you find the right fit.
I would love to hear your honest thoughts on whether it is worth the cost. I just want to find a way to work through some of my issues without it being a huge stressor in itself.
