Is L-Theanine the Secret to Stopping Caffeine Jitters at Night
I love my late afternoon coffee but it often leaves me feeling restless when I am trying to go to sleep around 11pm. I have been reading that L-Theanine might be the secret to stopping caffeine jitters and helping with relaxation without causing drowsiness. I am in the US and I am looking for a way to balance my stimulant use.
I have heard that a 2 to 1 ratio of L-Theanine to caffeine is the gold standard for focus and calm. I am wondering if taking L-Theanine alone before bed can help clear out that residual caffeine buzz. I really want to improve my deep sleep scores on my Oura ring.
Have any of you tried this strategy? I am curious if it actually makes a difference or if I just need to stop drinking coffee earlier in the day. I would love to hear your experiences with L-Theanine as a recovery tool for those of us who love our stimulants!
