Is Drinking Coffee Before a Workout Better Than Pre Workout Powder
I have been using expensive pre workout powders for a while but I am starting to wonder if I could just drink a strong cup of black coffee and get the same results. Coffee is much cheaper and more natural but it does not have the beta alanine or the citrulline for the pump.
I am in the US and I have a high quality espresso machine at home. I am thinking about just taking some separate creatine and then having a double shot before I head to the gym. Does anyone here prefer coffee over supplements? I am wondering if the other ingredients in the powders actually make a noticeable difference in your performance.
I would love to hear from people who have made the switch back to coffee. Do you miss the pump and the tingles or do you find the clean caffeine from coffee to be better? I am trying to simplify my routine and save some money at the same time.
