I have been hearing for years that sitting is the new smoking, so I am considering buying a standing desk for my home office. I am just not sure if I will actually use it or if it will just become an expensive regular desk.

Does standing actually help with back pain? I have been having some lower back issues lately and I am hoping this might be the solution. But I am also worried that standing for eight hours a day will just cause a different kind of pain in my feet and legs.

I am looking at brands like Uplift and Fully, but they are quite an investment. I have also seen the converters that you just put on top of your existing desk. Are those any good or are they just a wobbly mess?

If you have made the switch to a standing desk, how often do you actually stand? Do you find that you are more productive or does it make it harder to concentrate on complex tasks?
