I am finally getting around to putting down some proper flooring and I want to know how to use horse stall mats for gym flooring safely. I have heard they are the best value for money but I am a bit concerned about the rubber smell and the oils they might leave on the floor.

I am based in Texas and my garage gets very hot so I am worried the smell will be even worse in the summer. I have heard that washing them with soap and water or leaving them outside for a few days can help.

Does anyone have a trick for getting them to lay completely flat? I have seen some that have a bit of a curl at the edges. I want a seamless look for my lifting area so any advice on installation would be amazing!
