How to Use an Accupressure Mat for Recovery
I just bought one of those spiky accupressure mats and I am not sure if I love it or hate it yet. I am looking for how to use an accupressure mat for recovery and relaxation. I have heard that lying on it for twenty minutes can help with muscle tension and even improve sleep quality. It is definitely a bit of a shock to the system at first.
I have been using it on my bare skin but I might try it with a thin shirt until I get used to the sensation. I am wondering if it is better to use it before bed or as part of my post workout routine. I am in the US and I am looking for any natural ways to reduce my stress levels and help my body recover from heavy training.
Do you guys find that these mats actually make a difference? Or are they just a passing fad? I am curious if you have any tips for how to position yourself to get the most benefit for your back and neck. I would love to hear your thoughts on this interesting recovery tool!
