I have a sharp pain in my heel every morning and I am pretty sure it is plantar fasciitis. I am looking for how to use a massage ball for plantar fasciitis relief. I have a small spiky ball and a smooth lacrosse ball that I can use. I have been rolling the bottom of my foot but I am not sure if I am being too aggressive.

I have heard that you should also focus on your calves because they are connected to the fascia on the bottom of the foot. I am trying to roll my calves every night before bed. I am in the US and I do a lot of standing at work which I know is making the problem worse. I want to find a way to manage the pain so I can keep being active.

Do you have any tips for the best way to roll out the feet? Should I be doing it while sitting or standing for more pressure? I am also wondering if a frozen water bottle is better than a ball for reducing inflammation. I would love to hear your experiences with this common issue!
