How to Stretch for Better Running Form
I have been told that my running form is a bit stiff and that I am not getting enough knee drive. I am looking for how to stretch for better running form and a more efficient stride. I have very tight hip flexors and calves which I think are holding me back from reaching my full potential.
I have started doing some dynamic stretches before my runs like leg swings and butt kicks. I am also trying to incorporate some deeper static stretches in the evening like the pigeon pose and a deep calf stretch against the wall. I am in the US and I am training for my first 10k race this summer.
Do you have any specific stretches that helped you improve your running mechanics? I want to feel more fluid and less restricted when I am hitting the trails. If you have a favorite routine for runners please share it with me. I am eager to see some progress in my speed and comfort!
