I am trying to figure out how to secure a squat rack without bolting to the floor in my basement in Ohio. I do not want to drill into the concrete because of potential moisture issues and I also might want to move the rack in the future.

I have seen people building a wooden platform and bolting the rack to that instead. I want to know if that is actually stable enough for heavy lifting. I am also thinking about just using sandbags on the base of the rack to keep it from moving.

Has anyone had success with a non bolted setup? I do not want to worry about the rack tipping over when I am doing pull ups or re-racking a heavy bar. If you have a clever solution for keeping your rack in place without permanent damage please share it with me!
