I have been lifting for years but recently my right shoulder has started clicking whenever I go heavy on the bench press. I am really worried about a rotator cuff tear so I have been looking into how to prevent rotator cuff injuries during bench press. It seems like my form might be the culprit.

I have started incorporating face pulls and external rotations with light dumbbells before my chest sessions. I am also trying to tuck my elbows more instead of flaring them out wide. I have heard that using a slightly narrower grip can also take some of the pressure off the shoulder joint.

Does anyone have a specific warm up routine they swear by? I really do not want to stop benching but the pain is becoming hard to ignore. I have been using some Tiger Balm before my sets but that only masks the issue. I would love some advice on how to keep my shoulders healthy for the long term.
