I am finally planning my dream trip to Tokyo but the flight prices from London are absolutely mental right now. I have been checking Google Flights daily and it seems like there is no cheap way to get there anymore.

I have looked into flying into Osaka instead and taking the train, but the JR Pass price increase has made that less attractive. I am wondering if anyone has found better deals by flying through a different hub like Seoul or Taipei?

For accommodation, I am looking at business hotels like APA or Toyoko Inn because I have heard they are clean and affordable. Does anyone have experience with those? I do not need a lot of space as I will be out exploring all day.

If you have any tips on saving money on food or transit within Japan, please let me know. I want to experience as much as possible without breaking the bank.
