How to Handle Negative Body Image Days During a Bulk
I am currently in the middle of a winter bulk and some days the bloat is just too much to handle. I look in the mirror and I feel like I am just getting fat instead of building muscle. I know it is part of the process, but the negative body image days are hit me hard lately.
I am trying to remind myself that I need this extra fuel to hit my new PRs in the gym. I have started focusing more on my strength gains in my logbook to distract myself from the mirror. It is a tough mental battle when you are used to being lean.
What do you do when you are feeling down about your physique during a gain phase? Do you have specific clothes that make you feel better or do you just avoid the mirror entirely? I would love some support from fellow lifters who are also currently bulking.
