Summer is coming up and my old charcoal grill is rusted through. I am looking for a new one and I am torn between sticking with charcoal or making the switch to gas or even a pellet grill. I love the flavor of charcoal, but the convenience of gas is very tempting.

I have been looking at Weber and Traeger. I have heard that pellet grills are amazing because they act like an oven and a smoker at the same time. But they are quite expensive and I am worried about the mechanical parts breaking down over time.

Is the flavor from a gas grill really that much worse than charcoal? I have seen some people use smoker boxes to get that extra taste. I also want something that is easy to clean because I plan on using it at least a few times a week.

What are you all using for your backyard BBQs this year? I have a budget of around 600 dollars and I want something that will last for more than a couple of seasons.
