I have been struggling with a sharp pinching feeling in the front of my hip during the bottom of my squats. My doctor says it is FAI or hip impingement. It is super frustrating because it only happens when I go deep. I have tried widening my stance but that just shifts the pain.

I have started doing more glute bridges and monster walks to fire up my abductors. Has anyone found that specific hip mobility drills like the tactical frog help with this? I am also wondering if I should focus on strengthening my psoas or if that will make the impingement worse.

I really do not want to give up my squatting progress. I am currently training for a meet in Phoenix and this is a major setback. If you have any advice on how to manage the symptoms while still training hard I would love to hear it.
