High Protein Low Carb Diet Plan for Getting Shredded

I am about to start a strict eight week block to get ready for a trip to Mexico. I am thinking about going with a very high protein and low carb approach to really dry out and get that shredded look. I am talking about 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight.
I am planning to get most of my protein from chicken breast, white fish, and egg whites. I will keep my fats moderate and my carbs very low, mostly just from green veg. Does this sound like a solid plan or am I being too extreme?
What do you guys do for energy when your carbs are low? I am worried that my workouts will suffer. I have some Optimum Nutrition protein powder and I am thinking about adding some BCAAs. Any tips for surviving a low carb phase without losing your mind?
