I am so bored of eating scrambled eggs every single morning. I need some high protein breakfast ideas that are quick to make before I head out to work in London. I usually have about fifteen minutes to eat and get out the door.

I have tried overnight oats with protein powder, but the texture is a bit weird for me. I am looking for something savory or sweet that has at least 40g of protein. Maybe some kind of high protein pancake or a breakfast burrito that I can prep in advance?

What do you guys eat for breakfast when you are in a rush? I am really struggling to start my day with enough protein and it is making me fall behind on my daily totals. Any recipes or product recommendations would be a huge help.

Hey LondonLad, I feel your pain! Scrambled eggs get boring fast. Have you tried making protein oatmeal? You can stir in a scoop of protein powder, some nut butter, and berries. It is super quick, especially if you use instant oats, and packs a solid protein punch. πŸ’ͺ

@A4tech, protein oatmeal is a game changer! I usually prep my dry ingredients for a few days so it is literally just adding hot water and protein powder in the morning. Takes less than five minutes. Great suggestion! πŸ“ˆ

@A4tech, for the protein oatmeal, overnight oats are also fantastic. You just mix everything in a jar the night before and grab it from the fridge in the morning. No cooking required! Perfect for those London commutes. ⏰

Absolutely concur with the need for variety! Greek yogurt is my go-to when I am short on time. I mix a big serving of plain Greek yogurt with a scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder, a handful of granola, and some sliced banana. It is ready in under 5 minutes and keeps me full. πŸ₯£

@MuscleMike, you are spot on with Greek yogurt. I often blend mine with frozen berries and a bit of spinach for added nutrients without even tasting the greens. It is like a thick smoothie bowl, very satisfying. πŸ“

If you are willing to do a little meal prep on Sunday, breakfast burritos are amazing. Cook up some lean ground turkey or chicken with peppers and onions, then scramble a bunch of eggs (sorry, but these are different!) and wrap it all in whole wheat tortillas. Freeze them and microwave in the morning. High protein, super filling. 🌯

@FitFoodie_UK, that sounds brilliant for meal prep! What kind of fillings do you usually put in your breakfast burritos apart from the turkey/chicken and eggs? Looking for inspiration! πŸ€”

@Jayne_Scott, for burritos, besides the staples, I sometimes add black beans, corn, diced avocado, or a sprinkle of low-fat cheese. Hot sauce is a must for me! Keeps things interesting. πŸ”₯

Honestly, when time is REALLY tight, nothing beats a quick protein shake. Blend your favourite protein powder with water or milk, maybe a banana or some ice. You can drink it on the commute. Not the most exciting, but definitely efficient for bulking. πŸš€

@GymRatLondon, totally agree on the protein shake for speed. I always throw in a scoop of creatine and sometimes some oats for extra carbs. It is the ultimate grab-and-go solution. πŸ’ͺπŸ₯€

Do not knock cottage cheese! It is loaded with casein protein, which is slow-digesting. I like it savoury with some everything bagel seasoning and cherry tomatoes, or sweet with a drizzle of honey and some walnuts. No cooking involved, just scoop and eat. πŸ§€

@NorthStrong, I am a big fan of cottage cheese too! For a sweet kick, I add canned peaches or pineapple, or some cinnamon with apple slices. It is surprisingly versatile. πŸŽπŸ‘

For serious bulking, sometimes you just need actual meat. I will pre-cook a batch of chicken breast or even steak and just have it cold with a side of fruit in the morning. It is not gourmet, but it is high protein and minimal effort when you are rushing. πŸ₯©

@BulkBro, that is the true bulking mentality! Prepping meat is key. I often cook up extra steak or chicken from dinner the night before specifically for breakfast. It is efficient and tastes great cold or quickly reheated. No time for fancy in the morning. πŸ’―

Protein pancakes are another great option if you have a bit more than 15 minutes or can prep the dry mix. You can make a big batch and store them. Just heat them up and add some Greek yogurt or sugar-free syrup. Delicious! πŸ₯ž

@Push50, for protein pancakes, I use a simple recipe: 1 scoop protein powder, 1 egg, a splash of milk, and a tablespoon of self-raising flour. Mix and cook. Takes me about 10 minutes total for a decent stack. You can also add mashed banana. 🍌

What about protein bars? Are they a viable option for a high protein breakfast on busy mornings? Some of them have a lot of protein and are super convenient. Just wondering if they are "clean" enough. πŸ€”

@QuickEats, protein bars are certainly convenient in a pinch. However, do check the labels carefully. Many are high in sugar and unhealthy fats. Look for bars with whole food ingredients, lower sugar, and decent fibre. They are an emergency tool, not an everyday solution for optimal nutrition. ⚠️

LondonLad, since you are bored of scrambled, perhaps hard-boiled eggs? You can boil a dozen at the start of the week and just grab two or three in the morning. Pair them with some fruit and a handful of nuts. Still eggs, but a different texture and zero morning prep. πŸ₯š

@MorningRush, hard-boiled eggs are a lifesaver! I boil a big batch on Sunday nights and keep them in the fridge. Peel them the night before if you are really trying to save every second in the morning. Great suggestion to switch it up from scrambled! πŸ‘

Here is a slightly different one for you: smoked salmon and cream cheese on a whole-wheat bagel or crispbread. The salmon is packed with protein and healthy fats. It is quick to assemble and feels a bit more gourmet than other options. You can add some capers or dill too. 🍣πŸ₯―

@RockyBuilder, wow, smoked salmon! That is a brilliant idea, I do not know why I never considered it for breakfast. High protein, delicious, and quick. I am going to try this next week! Thanks! 🀯
