Essential Equipment for a Minimalist Home Gym Build

I am planning an essential equipment for a minimalist home gym build in my basement in New Jersey. I do not want a lot of clutter so I am trying to narrow it down to just the things I absolutely need to get a great workout.
Right now my list is a squat stand a barbell some plates and a flat bench. I feel like I can do almost everything with those four items. I am trying to avoid buying fancy machines that only do one thing.
What would you add to a minimalist setup if you had to pick just one more item? I am thinking maybe a set of gymnastic rings or a kettlebell. I want to keep the space open and functional without spending too much on things I will not use.
