Does Zinc and Magnesium Help with Vivid Dreams and REM Sleep
I recently started taking a zinc and magnesium supplement before bed and I have noticed that my dreams have become incredibly vivid and intense. I am wondering if this is a sign that I am getting better REM sleep or if it is just a side effect of the minerals.
I am in Canada and I am using a local brand of ZMA. I feel like I am waking up more rested but the dreams are almost exhausting because they feel so real. I have heard that zinc can influence neurotransmitters that are responsible for dreaming.
Has anyone else experienced this? I am curious if the vivid dreams eventually go away or if this is just part of the experience. I am also wondering if I should lower my dose of zinc if it becomes too much. I would love to hear your thoughts on the science behind this!
