I noticed that after I eat a salty meal like soy sauce or a burger the scale jumps up two pounds the next day. I know it is not fat gain but it is still super annoying. How do you guys manage sodium when you are tracking your weight?
I am trying to stay around 2300mg of sodium but it is hard when eating out or using processed foods. Should I just ignore the daily fluctuations and look at the weekly average instead?
I drink a lot of water to help flush it out but the morning weigh in always makes me feel like I failed. Does anyone have any tricks for keeping water retention low while on a high protein diet? I am in the US and it seems like there is salt in everything here.
