Don't forget that pullups also hit the core and even the long head of the triceps more than a seated pulldown ever will. More bang for your buck.
If you're training for aesthetics, surely the 'best' one is the one you can progress on the longest without getting injured?
Very sensible NorthernLass. Longevity > Peak Intensity. But for a young lad looking for mass, I'm still voting Pullups.
Why not both? Pullups to start, then drop sets on the pulldown. Best of both worlds.
Think that's the plan. Gonna settle the debate by doing both and seeing which one makes me sore in the morning. Cheers everyone!
