I am looking for some diy gym flooring ideas for my new garage gym in Manchester. The concrete floor is very cold and I do not want to damage it when I am dropping weights.
I have seen people using horse stall mats from agricultural shops and they seem like a much cheaper option than the specialist gym tiles you see online. I am wondering how hard they are to cut to size and if they smell as bad as everyone says.
Does anyone have a guide on how to lay them down properly so they do not slide around? I am also considering putting a layer of plywood underneath for extra protection. Any tips for a budget friendly floor would be greatly appreciated!
