I have lost over one hundred pounds in the last two years and while I am proud of the achievement, I am really struggling with the loose skin. It is hard to feel confident in the gym when I have this physical reminder of my old self. I have tried using various creams like Bio-Oil but I know there is only so much a topical product can do.

I am trying to focus on building muscle to fill out some of the skin, but it is a slow process. Some days I look in the mirror and feel like I looked better when I was heavier because at least I was firm. It is a weird mental place to be in after so much hard work.

Has anyone here had surgery to remove loose skin? Or have you found ways to accept it? I am in Toronto and looking into local surgeons, but the cost is quite high. I would love to hear from anyone who has dealt with this specific body image issue.
