Deadlift Back Pain Relief and Proper Form Correction
Every time I go over 405 pounds on my deadlift my lower back just screams at me the next day. I have watched a million YouTube videos on form but I cannot seem to stop my hips from shooting up too early. I suspect my bracing is the real issue here.
I have started doing 90-90 breathing drills before my sessions and it helps a little bit. I also bought a high quality lifting belt from SBD to see if that helps with intra-abdominal pressure. Does anyone have a specific cue that helped them keep a neutral spine under heavy loads?
I am also wondering if I should switch to sumo deadlifts for a few months to take some stress off the lumbar spine. I have heard it is a bit more back friendly for taller guys like me. I really do not want to give up the movement entirely because it is my favorite lift.
