I am looking for a cheap diy platform for deadlifting in a rental apartment in New York. I cannot bolt anything to the floor and I need to make sure I do not leave any marks or cause any noise complaints from the neighbors.
I have seen designs using two layers of plywood and some rubber mats on top. I want to know if that is enough to protect the floor from a four hundred pound deadlift. I am also thinking about adding some carpet padding underneath for extra vibration dampening.
Has anyone built a platform that is easy to take apart when you move? I do not want to be stuck with a huge piece of wood that I cannot get out of the door. Any advice for a renter who wants to lift heavy would be amazing!
