I often have to train at 9pm due to my work schedule here in London. By the time I get home and have my post workout meal I am completely wide awake. I am wondering if GABA supplements can help you fall asleep faster after a late gym session. I have heard that GABA is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain.

I have seen some sleep formulas that include 500mg of GABA. I want to know if taking it as a supplement actually works since I have heard it has a hard time crossing the blood brain barrier. I really need to be asleep by midnight so I can function at work the next morning.

Have any of you used GABA for post workout relaxation? I am curious if it gives you a heavy feeling or if it is a more subtle effect. I would love to hear your recommendations for late night recovery stacks that do not leave you feeling hungover!
