Best Vegan Protein Sources for Muscle Building and Hypertrophy
I have been vegan for about six months now and I am finding it a bit tough to hit my protein targets for hypertrophy. I am currently living in Vancouver and I have been buying a lot of tofu and tempeh from the local markets but I need more variety.
Does anyone here have success building serious muscle without animal products? I am trying to avoid too much processed mock meat because it makes me feel bloated. I have heard that seitan is a great option because it is so high in protein but I am not sure how to cook it so it does not taste like a shoe.
What are your go to staples for a plant based bulk? I am currently hitting about 150 grams of protein a day but I want to get that up to 180 grams. If you have any specific brands of lentils or beans that you love please let me know!
