Best Recovery Stretches for Long Distance Walkers
I am training for a charity walk and I am doing about fifteen miles every Saturday. My feet and calves are killing me by the end of it. I am looking for the best recovery stretches for long distance walkers to help me bounce back for the work week. I find that my arches feel especially tight after a long day on the trails.
I have been using a tennis ball to roll out the bottom of my feet which provides some immediate relief. I am also doing some wall stretches for my calves but I am wondering if there are better moves for the shins and the tops of the feet. I want to stay injury free as the mileage increases over the next month.
What do you all do after a long day on your feet? I am also considering getting some better socks from a brand like Darn Tough to see if that helps with the fatigue. If you have any secret stretches for walkers please share them with me!
