Best Portable Power Stations for Camping and Emergencies 2026
I am planning some longer camping trips this summer and I want to be able to keep my devices charged and maybe even run a small fridge. I am looking for a portable power station that is reliable and has enough capacity for a few days off the grid.
I have been looking at Jackery and EcoFlow. Both seem to have great reviews, but I am not sure how much capacity I actually need. Is 500Wh enough or should I go for something bigger like 1000Wh? I am also interested in getting a solar panel to recharge it during the day.
How do these things hold up over time? I also want to use it as a backup power source for my home in case of an emergency. I live in an area that gets a lot of storms, so having some extra power for lights and my phone would be great.
If you use a portable power station, what brand do you recommend? Any tips on how to maximize the battery life while out in the woods?
