Has anyone here used both SBD and Stoic knee sleeves extensively? I am trying to decide which pair to invest in. SBDs are the gold standard everyone talks about, but Stoic seems to be gaining a lot of traction lately, especially for their price point.

My main concern is durability and consistent compression over time. I am squatting heavy 3x a week. Any real-world experiences or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! 💪

I have been using SBDs for about two years now, and they are absolutely fantastic. The support is unparalleled, and they feel very consistent even after countless washes. They are a bit pricey, but I genuinely feel they are worth the investment for serious lifters. My knees feel much more stable during heavy sets. 🔥

@BigArvin, that is exactly what I keep hearing about SBDs. The price is definitely the biggest hurdle for me right now. Did you find a significant difference in performance compared to other brands you have tried before?

@SquatKing, I can vouch for SBDs too. Mine are going strong after a year and a half. The compression is still top-notch. I did find the break-in period a bit rough, but once they conform to your knees, it is pure magic. Are you looking for 5mm or 7mm?

I went with Stoic 7mm sleeves a few months ago after my old Rehbands gave out. I have to say, for the cost, they are surprisingly good. They offer solid support and feel quite durable. Not quite as

@LiftHeavyGuy, good to hear positive feedback on Stoic! I am leaning towards them because of the value. How is the sizing accuracy? I have heard some people say to size down from their chart for more compression. 🤔

I have used both. SBDs definitely offer a tighter, more

Do not overlook Sling Shot STrong sleeves either. They are a solid middle-ground option between SBD and Stoic in terms of price and performance. I have had mine for almost a year, and they are holding up wonderfully. Great pop out of the hole. 💪

@Alexandoy, I considered Sling Shot but did not hear as much about their durability compared to SBD. Good to know you are having a positive experience. Do they feel as supportive as SBDs in your opinion, or is it a noticeable difference?

I think it ultimately depends on your budget and how serious you are about competitive powerlifting. For general gym use and strong lifters, Stoic is perfectly fine. For someone chasing every kilo on the platform, SBD might give that tiny edge. Both are better than nothing. 👍

Just got my Stoic sleeves last week. First impression: very snug, good quality stitching. They definitely feel like they will last. Squatted with them yesterday and felt a noticeable difference in knee comfort and stability. Pretty happy with them so far. 💯

@StrongSteph, awesome to hear! I just ordered Stoics after reading more reviews. Did you follow their sizing chart exactly, or did you size down? I am hoping they fit well right out of the box. 🙏

@philosopher, that is a very balanced view. I agree completely. For most recreational lifters, the difference might not justify the price jump. But if you are hitting max effort attempts regularly, that extra confidence from SBDs can be huge. 🤯

I am a strong believer in trying on sleeves if possible. Sizing can be so individual, and what feels right for one person might be too tight or too loose for another. Some brands also just fit different knee anatomies better. Always check return policies! 👀

@Jayne_Scott, that is excellent advice. I made the mistake of not trying on my first pair of sleeves, and they were a disaster. Too loose and did not provide any actual support. Learned my lesson the hard way.

What are your thoughts on 5mm vs 7mm for general training? I am not competing but want good support.

My gym has both SBD and Stoic sleeves for members to try. Honestly, the SBDs feel like they are made from a denser, slightly more rigid material. The Stoics are good, but feel a bit softer, which might be preferred by some. It is truly a personal preference thing.

If you can, find a gym or a meet where you can try them on. That is the best way to decide. 💯

@admin, having access to try them on would be a dream! My local gym only has really old, stretched-out communal sleeves. Your description of SBDs feeling denser aligns with what I imagine. I think I will stick with Stoics for now based on budget, but SBDs are definitely a future goal. Thanks for the input! 🙌

Just a quick thought: ensure you are also focusing on proper warm-ups and mobility work. Sleeves are a great tool for support and performance, but they are not a substitute for a solid warm-up routine and good technique. Prevention first! ⚠️
