I am finally seting up my home gym in my garage in Leeds and I need to find the best home gym flooring. I am planning on doing heavy deadlifts and squats so I need something that will protect the concrete and also provide a stable surface. I have looked at the cheap foam tiles but I have heard they are terrible for lifting.

I am considering getting some heavy duty rubber horse stall mats. They seem to be the gold standard for home gyms but they are quite heavy and hard to move. I also want to know if they have a strong smell that will linger in the garage.

What are you using for your floor? I want something that is durable and will not compress under a five hundred pound deadlift. If you have tips for instalation or finding the best deals on rubber mats please let me know. I want to do this right the first time.
