Best Electric Bikes for Urban Commuting in 2026 Review

I am thinking about ditching my car for my daily commute to work and getting an electric bike instead. It is about a five-mile ride through some pretty hilly terrain, and I do not want to show up to the office completely sweaty. I am looking for the best e-bike for urban commuting.

I have been looking at brands like Rad Power Bikes and Aventon. I want something that has a decent range and is comfortable to ride on city streets. I am also wondering if I should get a folding bike so I can bring it into my apartment more easily.

How do e-bikes hold up in the rain? I live in a pretty wet climate and I want to make sure the electronics will not get fried. I also need to know about the maintenance. Is it much more complicated than a regular bike?
