Best Dark Mode Settings for Better Readability at Night
I am writing this from my flat in London quite late at night and my eyes are starting to strain from the bright white background. I know we have a basic dark mode but I think the contrast settings could be improved for better readability. The grey text on the black background is a bit difficult to follow during long reading sessions.
I have tried adjusting my monitor settings and using an extension on Chrome but it would be much better if it was native to the site. Many users in the UK and Canada tend to browse late in the evening and a true AMOLED black theme would be amazing for those of us on mobile phones.
Does anyone else feel that the current blue accents are a bit too vibrant when dark mode is turned on? I am a big fan of the color scheme usually but at 11 PM it feels a bit like a neon sign. Maybe we could have a few different theme options like a sepia tone or a charcoal grey.
I am interested to hear if the American users find the current layout comfortable for night reading. I spend a lot of time catching up on threads before bed and any improvements to the visual comfort would be highly appreciated.
